Meet the 3 Bros Who Stole a 600ft Purple Chicken Statue for a Joyride

Murderers Row right there...

First Coast News, Fla.:
SAN MATEO, Fla. -- Three men were arrested Wednesday in Putnam County for stealing a 9-foot-tall chicken statue.

Darrin Luke Edwards, 19, Tyler Lee Jones, 21, and James Joseph Smith, 18, were each charged with a count of grand theft, according to a release from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Edwards was also charged with Violation of Probation.

The owner of the statue said he was getting ready for work Tuesday when he heard a commotion. He looked down the street and saw a pick up truck pulling his purple, 600-pound, aluminum chicken.

One of the men was mounted on the chicken, riding it down the road. They were identified through eyewitness accounts and video surveillance.

The chicken, which is valued at $2,300, sustained "a broken leg, broken claw and there was extensive damage to one side," according to the release.

Jones and Smith were each released from the Putnam County Jail on a $1,004 bond and Edwards is still being held in jail without bond.

These bros. Just high as fuck.  They had to know they were all going down for this one--no one was getting out clean. But how much fun did they have for that brief moment in time when they were pulling a 600 pound purple chicken down the road while one of them sat on top of it? For some reason I picture a Last Supper type scene before they went after the chicken--3 dudes eating Doritos Locos tacos at Taco Bell, toasting  to their final mission with Mountain Dews before sneaking in a few more hits of Florida shwag to prepare themselves.

PS--I know the story says he's 19, but the kid on the left is 100 pct the gay guy from Mean Girls right?
